We found our way to the HolidayInn where Pat had arranged for us to stay for 2 nights and the next morning we set out to see the Alamo.After booking in we thought we would just drive around and get our bearings and have a general look around.After going around what seemed the same area all the time, we eventually asked someone where the Alamo was and apparently we had passed it 3 times and not noticed it ! Talk about 3 people with Blinkers on ! We had sussed out the River Walk which we were told was a "Must Do",and eventually found our way back to the Holiday Inn for our dinner and an early night. I was glad to get into bed because it had been a long day and I felt I was getting a cold. I wasn't wrong there because I awoke the next morning with a very runny nose and raspy throat ! I wasn't going to let that spoil my holiday though,so it was under the shower for me and down to hustle Pat and Reg. We had

our breakfast at the Holiday in and decided to hop on a bus and head for the Alamo!! And as you can see,we found it without any trouble.The bus driver put us off when we reached it !!! That's me waving to all my family and friends in front of it. It's quite a large complex and we spent quite a long time walking are just looking at things.There were lot of Tourists there and we were later to find out that San Antonio has a population of 1.03 Million and about 3 million tourists a year !!

Here's Reg telling us all about it, with some of the State flags of those who fought at the Alamo. There were more than Americans who fought at the Alamo. There were men from various countries including England who died at the Alamo.
