Thelma's Travels

Friday, March 19, 2010

Today, Thursday 18th March, Jackie, Graham and I headed out about 10.30am for Harrison Hotsprings Island. The weather was beautiful with a lovely blue sky, as you can see.Ofcourse I just had to take a photo of the new bridge. It is called " The Golden Ear Bridge". Funny name beautiful bridge !

We followed the Frazer River and did the scenic journey on our way there through the valley. We seemed to always have the mountains on one side of us. This is one of the smaller mountains which I photographed from the car as we travelled along.

This is in a little town called Dewdney. It's a Post Office and General store and must be many years old. It would have been a major stop for supplies in the Gold Rush days as the Prospectors for gold were heading towards Hope and beyond. We were going to go and stop at Hope over-night, but Jackie isn't feeling very well and so we decided to head back home, which pleased me.
