Whistler Sunday 17th 2006
Sunday the 17th and we have been home long enough to have a bite to eat, a chat around the dinner table and I'm almost ready to fall into bed. Helena and I went to Whistler today hoping to see a bit of snow, but we were out of luck once again. It has been raining most of the day and Jackie said we would probably get a bit of snow at Whistler. So Helena and I set off hopefully this morning. It was a lovely drive up there in spite of the rain. The views were good until we came home and the fog had set in then. It was quite cold at Whistler but it wasn't freezing at the top of the Ski Lift. I went to the ticket window while Helena parked the car and when I saw it was $47.00 CA each to ride to the top I thought I had better ask if there was snow up there. When the ticket seller said "No" I told her not to worry about the tickets then!!! I thought Whistler a lovely place but very commercial, everything was expensive. It must be a great fun place for young people when it snows though.
Yesterday Graham and Jackie took us back over the USA Border to a place called Point Roberts. It is just a little fishing marina with views of the Ocean. We could see the Ferries plying back and forth to Victoria Island, really lovely views. I'm starting to feel "All viewed out" I've seen so many lovely views !!
Helena is going to have to go home in a day or two, I shall miss her terribly, we have become firm friends during our travels. ( And Helena understands my Aussie humour). So just in case we go over to Victoria Island tomorrow I had better get to bed. No Pics tonight, there was only one taken today. Bye now
