Yesterday (Monday) we went for a drive to the Laguna Atascosa National Wildlife Refuge. This is one of the prime bird watching areas of the World and many people come to it in the winter. The black bird you see in this picture is called the Grackle and the smaller ones are called the red-wing black birds. The noise was deafening there were so many around feeding and drinking.

The little bird by the Feeder was very much like one of our Parrots. It is called a Green Jay.

These Cactus flowers really are lovely. Can't help taking photos of them.

The water in the back ground is the Arroyo River. This area is used by Recreational fishermen. Some have holiday shacks there and others have made it their home and built some really nice homes in the area. A few of the homes have lovely gardens. Not all though !!
