Margaret River for 5 days with Judy, Rags and Liz.

We set off for Margaret River in the South West of Western Australia after a shaky start. Judy and Rags were due to pick me up at 9am, but they discovered a burst water pipe in their back garden almost as they were leaving home. Fortunately it was a Reticulation pipe so Rags was able to disconnect the pipe and they were only 30mins. late picking me up.Then it was on to Rag's Mum's home to pick her up and we were off for our 5 day break.
Luckily it was Easter Monday and most of the traffic was going in the other direction as people wended their way home from their Easter holidays. At times the other side of the road looked like a car park, but we were fine!
We arrived at Margaret River in the afternoon and by the time we had unpacked our gear and had a little nap it was almost Dinner Time. Clint, Judy's son, and his girlfriend, Amber came for dinner. Judy and Rags did the cooking and we had a lovely meal of grilled Salmon, Potato Bake and Salad. We also spent a very enjoyable evening laughing and talking till just after 11pm.
Tuesday we just went for a walk up the main street of Margaret River and did a bit of Window Shopping. A lot of "Arty" people live in Margaret River so there was plenty to look at and it wasn't all in the shops ! We then went back to the Motel and Liz and I had a Nanny Nap. That evening when it got dark we were able to watch a couple of Bandicoots (Little native animals) come around looking for something to eat. They're cute little things. We didn't get any photos of them, they were to fast diving back into the bush.
Wednesday we set off to visit a few of the delightful Wineries, Boutique Breweries and other attractions, which included The Margaret River Chocolate Factory, The Lavender Farm and Winery, The Cheese Factory, and the Coffee Factory. It was a very enjoyable day.
Thursday we headed to Busselton to have morning tea with friends of Rags and Judy. We were made very welcome and spent a pleasant hour with Judy and Barry. From there we went to Dunsborough to visit the Bakery, but we were disappointed with our pies, Rags and Liz had Potato Pies which were cold on the bottom and I had a very ordinary Meat Pie. Judy had something else. After we left there we went to Yallingup and had a look around and then on to Canal Rocks. Once again a lovely day was had by all.
We left for home Friday morning all feeling quite happy with the holiday we had had all together.
The Mum's both enjoyed spending time with their "Kids", and I hope the "Kids" enjoyed their time with their Mums. We made some lovely memories.
This sign was amusing. As is the Crocodile head in the water. I daresay it does the job of keeping people out of the water.

A very modern looking building. If my memory serves me right,(and it doesn't very often)I think this was the Coffee Factory.

There weren't many swimming or lazing on the beach. The holidays are over!

A part view of the lounge room where we stayed in Margaret River. (Sorry about the lap-top being in the way !)

Sam, the very friendly dog at one of the Wineries we visited, going through his "Party tricks" for us.

These tricks tired him out and when we left he was sound asleep.
