The view from Kevin's back door. That is the Indian ocean in the distance. A lovely view that will never be built out.

This display of a plant that grows wild in West Aust really intrigued us.It looked really lovely and I congratulate the Landscaper who designed it. The following two photos are of the same display.

Easter at Erskine, Mandurah, West. Aust.

Good Friday saw me up bright and early and after packing an over night bag, and a couple of other bags, I set off to pick up my cousin Eileen from her home about 20 mins down towards Fremantle and headed to Erskine. Erskine is a suburb of Mandurah.
The traffic was reasonably light and we arrived at our destination before Mid-day. Florrie, my other cousin,(Eileen's sister )who lives at Erskine welcomed us with a very lovely hot cup of tea and then lunch. The rest of the day was taken up with chatter, we had a lot of catching up to do !!

On Easter Saturday after a leisurely breakfast we went for a drive. I expressed a wish to see The Cut, which is a man made cut into the land allowing the sea water to flow into it and create canals around which Mandurah has grown. We drove over the Bridge then turned left off the main highway and drove around the river. There are some lovely homes around there. In fact there are a lot of lovely homes around all of Mandurah.

We called in to see Florrie's son and his wife while we were out and were made very welcome. After we left there we called in to see another cousin, Dawn and her husband Jim.
They live right next to one of the canals and I took a couple of photos from their back door which I will add to this blog. They have a Pelican which is very friendly and regularly visits them. Consequently there are people in various types of river craft continually stopping to take photos of Percy the Pelican.

When we arrived back at Florries it was time to put the Feeding Bag on again !! I seemed to have eaten a lot of food while I was staying with Florrie, she's a good hostess and if anyone is hungry at her home it is their own fault !!

As a Thunder Storm and rain was forecast for Easter Monday we decided to leave late Sunday afternoon for home. That road from Mandurah is very heavy with traffic when there is a holiday crowd coming home from further down the South West of WA, and it is not a road I would willingly like to put myself on at that time, especially when the road is wet and slippery. As it was we took longer to arrive home than expected because of a Bush Fire at Baldivas and the police closed off the road we were travelling on and we had to deviate through Rockingham.

I arrived home after dropping Eileen off at her home about 7.10pm , and was glad to fall into bed just after 9pm. It was a good week-end and I enjoyed it immensely.
Easter has arrived at Harold Hawthorne a day earlier than everyone else's and the Easter Parade was a resounding success as usual. Our Esteemed Co-indinator Jim looked very petite in his Easter Bonnet and was extremely excited to win an Easter Egg for his effort.
( As you can see by the look on his face!!)

Pam looked lovely in her Easter Bonnet too !

As the beauty of the hat is on the top of it, Pam gave us a quick look at it.
